Internet of Things

Towards a connected world...

Think about the future where you can operate home appliances from anywhere on the earth.
Think about the city where no longer need to wait for taxis and buses.
Think a country where transportation is going driver-less.
This future already exists..!
This all are going to be possible via IoT.

What is IoT ?

IoT is the technology in which devices are connected through internet. IoT enables the automated exchange of information between devices or machines, and humans. The ‘things’ in IoT includes electrical appliances at home to the large machines used in factories. These things includes small wireless sensors which has low-power and low-memory characteristics, i.e. memory is measured in bits or bytes and power consumption is so low that devices can run for years with a pair of AA-size of battery.

Which OS used by IoT?

'Things', also called smart objects becomes a bridge between the real world and virtual worlds. They contains microprocessors, communication and power source. These all objects are controlled  by the operating system.
Contiki is the operating system just like a Windows and Linux but used for very specific purpose and basically concerned with “things” in the Internet of Things (IoT).

In next blog we will go more deep about OS.
Review regularly for more detail.

Applications ( the IoT World!!!!!!!!!)

   Remote Control devices using mobile:
‘Connected home’ is one of the popular concept IoT.Belkin has launched several home automation products called WeMo that uses home Wi-Fi network to control through a mobile app.

Things you wish. That you had!!
