LTE :A Step Ahed

The world is on the edge of wireless connectivity. Everything needs to be connect through internet. Bandwidth shortage is the fundamental issue for any of the mobile network generation. Long Term Evolution is the latest standard in mobile network which is developed under 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP).
LTE is up gradation from the 2G/3G services, as from GSM to UMTS to HSPA or CDMA and CDMA to LTE.
Features
§                                §  Higher data rates:
        Downlink: 100Mbps     Uplink: 50Mbps
§  Efficient spectrum utilization:
        DL: 5 BPS/Hz UL: 2.5 bps/Hz
§  Scalable carrier bandwidth: 1.4MHz to 20 MHz
§  Reduced cost for operator
§  Improved system capacity and coverage area
Architecture
The LTE physical layer is based on OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing), based on multicarrier transmission where total date stream is split into low bit-rate streams transmitted on several separate sub-carriers. OFDM is resistant to frequency-selective fading, supports varying spectrum allocations an easy to implement.
4G
In today’s mobile communication access to mobile networks and mobile services are controlled by a single operator. In 4G, access to mobile services will be evolved to an open mobile cloud. i.e. companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Google can provide services to their users.
4G is based on OWA (Open Wireless Architecture). The OWA offers service-oriented architecture and infrastructure for mobile phone advancement.
